Utilization reports
When administrating a system is it useful to know about problems before they become an issue. System overloads, low disk space and high job submission rates can lead problems with the system, or cause delays to users of the system.
If the systems utilization can be monitored these issues can be dealt with before they become a problem.
System Utilization Commands
There are several commands already available on RHEL to view the current utilization. One such command is top. Top shows the current list of running processes along with the CPU utilization, memory usage and swap space.
