New page

==The Problem==

We have seen issue with the GUI failing to boot when using an Nvidia Quadro Card.

The result is that half way through booting it will get stuck. Usually around the time sds is starting.

== The Solution ==

* Boot into the command line. This will not have an issue.

* Reinstall the driver - this must be installed for the running kernel. To make sure rerun the installer and it will compile it for the running kernel. Updating the kernel will not update the driver.

* reconfigure xorg. This can be done with the tool from nvidia.

<syntaxhighlight>
nvidia-xconfig
</syntaxhighlight>
