Guide to adding a User to Freenas
Navigate to "Account". You will get Groups first, click on the users tab.
You should be presented with a list of all current users and their attributes. To add a user, click "add user".
This should open up a dialog box with all the various options you can select for your user. In my example i went with user "test".
Notice it has a tick box for "create primary user group" you may wish to untick this if your adding your user name to a existing user group.
"Create home directory in" For this option you may want to create a folder (dataset) For further information on creating a directory in freenas see:
The rest of the boxes such as full name, email and so on so be straight forward.
There are further more advanced options such as adding your public SSH key to your user but i think for most usages cases this will not be required. worth knowing these things are supported though. Once sure of all settings hit ok.
If all successful you should now have created your user.
