Default settings

192.168.1.1 / root / admin123

By default the ports will closed/powered off for security, all ports need to be enabled before you will see any link activity.

Check the port status

GNOS# show interface status

Port Status Duplex Speed Negotiation
---- ------ ------ ----- -----------
Eth0/1 not connected Full 10 Gbps No-Negotiation
Eth0/2 not connected Full 10 Gbps No-Negotiation
Eth0/3 not connected Full 10 Gbps No-Negotiation
Eth0/4 not connected Full 10 Gbps No-Negotiation
Eth0/5 not connected Full 10 Gbps No-Negotiation
Eth0/6 not connected Full 10 Gbps No-Negotiation
Eth0/7 not connected Full 10 Gbps No-Negotiation
Eth0/8 not connected Full 10 Gbps No-Negotiation
Eth0/9 not connected Full 10 Gbps No-Negotiation
Eth0/10 not connected Full 10 Gbps No-Negotiation

Turn on all the ports

And write the changes to ensure systems boots up in the same configuration.

GNOS# configure terminal
GNOS(config)# interface range ethernet 0/1-72
GNOS(config-if-range)# no shutdown
GNOS(config-if-range)# exit
GNOS(config)#GNOS# write startup-config
Building configuration ...
[OK] exit
