Partition Types

Piston Open Stack Partition Types
Partition Type Description
Ceph Data The Ceph Object Storgage Daemon (OSD) stores objects on the ceph data parition and makes them available over the network. Theres 1 OSD per partition.
Ceph Monitor Ceph maintains a map of the resources in the cluster and which ones are up or down, this cluster map is written to the ceph monitor partition
Ceph Journal The Ceph OSDs temporarily write data to the journal partition
Ephemeral Ephemeral partitions store data that does not persist and is not shared, such as boot disks and paged data
Identity A 64MB partition thate stores the identity information about the cluster.
