Phi Configuration
There are three methods to configure a PHI card on bright: cm-mic-setup, cmsh and cmgui. It is recommended that administrators use cm-mic-setup to set up their PHI cards as it is easy to mis configure them through cmsh and cmgui.
cm-mic-setup
Set up is done intreativly by default, but all required information can be passsed through using the options.
A basic command is shown. Here MIC is the Phic card, while MICHOSTNAME is the name of the host holding the card.
cm-mic-setup --add-mic <MIC>... --mic-host <MICHOSTNAME>... [OPTIONS]The cm-mic-setup with go through the following steps:
- The PHI is added to Bright
- A network bridge is created if needed
- Network Configuration
- MIChost role is assigned to the host
- IP forwarding is enabled on the host

cmgui
Go to the "MIC Nodes" tab and press "Create MICs":
