LSI:Syncro
LSI Syncro Cards
THESE MUST BE USED WITH AN E26 BACKPLANE - IT IS THE ONLY ONE VALIDATED AS OF NOVEMBER 2014
USING THEM WITH A SINGLE EXAPANDER BACK SUCH AS AN E16 WILL NOT WORK
Syncro cards and the back plane
Each card must be connected to a primary and a secondary port of the two expanders. In other words each card connects the the primary port of one back plane and the secondary port of the other exander
Setting up the Raid
Go to the web BIOS of one card and check the advanced settings - it should show the cards to be in cluster mode meaning it has seen the other card. If this is not the case check them again.
The RAID only needs to be configured on one card - the other card will pick it up automatically. Make sure you define the RAID to be shared - it is normally done by default.
