Apache Installation

Apache can be installed using yum.

To isntalled Apache using yum. 

yum install httpd

However other packages will be needed. The easiest way to install all the packages is to use groupinstall 

yum groupinstall "Web Server"


Controlling Apache

No Configuration is required. Once Apache is started, point the webbrower to http://localhost and you will see the apache test page.

using init.d

/etc/init.d/httpd start
/etc/init.d/httpd stop
/etc/init.d/httpd restart

using apache commands

apachectl stop
apachectl start
apachectl graceful
