| Ceph Data
|
The Ceph Object Storgage Daemon (OSD) stores objects on the ceph data parition and makes them available over the network. Theres 1 OSD per partition.

| Ceph Monitor
|
Ceph maintains a map of the resources in the cluster and which ones are up or down, this cluster map is written to the ceph monitor partition

| Ceph Journal
|
The Ceph OSDs temporarily write data to the journal partition

| Ephemeral
|
Ephemeral partitions store data that does not persist and is not shared, such as boot disks and paged data

| Identity
|
A 64MB partition thate stores the identity information about the cluster.
