Cinder

Cinder provides the persistent block storage to guest VMs. All access to the cinder volume is associated with the VM, they cannot be accessed outside of the cloud.

Sizing is based on need, any size volume can be created and attached as long as it does not exceed their quota.

Cinder Volume

The cinder-volume updates the cinder data base, interacts with the cinder scheduler via the message queue nd manages the dynamically attachable block devices.
