Repositories

RPM packages are usually organised into Repositories. These are groups of RPMs available to be installed. It may be that you need to navigate to another repository to install software.

There are five repos installed in RHEL6 by default:

Redhat Enterprise Linux Server	the Main Redhat Repo
RHN tools	Management of RHN connections such as virtualization
RHN server supplementary	Software released under liceneces other than opensource such as Java
RHEL V2VWIN	Single Package for reading microsoft formatted partitions
RHEL Server Optional	A large group of extra RPMs
