- Notes to be padded out whenever i get it work!
Test Environment:
- Windows Server 2008 R2
- Install Microsoft.NET 3.5 (from the VMware installer)

- Fairly straight forward, next next next. In this instance we did not have AD installed for single sign-on.
Starting up the vCentre services
Start the Orchestrator Configuration Service
The VMware vCenter Orchestrator configuration service is not started by default. You must start it manually before you try to access the Orchestrator configuration interface. If you installed Orchestrator using GUI or console mode, the Web configuration service is already started.
- Select Start -> Programs -> Administrative Tools -> Services.
- Locate the VMware vCenter Orchestrator Configuration service on the list and check its status.
- If the configuration service is not running, right-click VMware vCenter Orchestrator Configuration and select Start.
The service is now running and the Orchestrator configuration interface is available for use. You can log in to the Orchestrator configuration interface and start the process of configuring Orchestrator.
Start vCenter Server
- Log in as an administrator to the server that is running vCenter Server.
- Click Start -> Run -> services.msc
- From the list of services right-click on the service you wish to start. For example, VMware VirtualCenter Server, or VMware vCenter Server depending on the version you are using.
- Click Start and wait for the service startup to complete.
Log In to the Orchestrator Configuration Interface
- To access the Orchestrator configuration interface, do one of the following:
- Select Start -> Programs -> VMware -> vCenter Orchestrator Web Configuration.
- Open a Web browser window and enter the following URL: http://<appliance_name_or_IP_address>:8282
- Log in with the default credentials:
- User name: vmware
- Password: vmware
CAUTION: To avoid potential exploitation of the administrative credentials, VMware recommends that you change this insecure password when you first access the configuration interface. Retaining the default password creates serious security issues in a production environment and is a common cause of data breach.
